April Fool’s day: Google and Virgin today announced a joint one-hundred year plan to colonize Mars, our red neighbor in the solar system. The venture is called Virgle, and the Google founders are all smiles as they announce their great plan in a YouTube video. Anyone can apply to be a Virgle Pioneer, by filling out an application form, and of course the next step is to upload a 30-second youtube clip of yourself. The joke is pretty elaborate, with detailed plans and milestones set for 2010, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2108.
